Find out what John Cooper, lead singer for the band Skillet, has to say in response to some of the recent renunciation of some relatively popular “christians” in  his  recent  Facebook  post  “What  in  God’s  Name  is  Happening  in  Christianity?”

Thank you , John,  for  standing,  and  for  speaking  out  against  this.

You  may  already  know  what  my  passion  is,  but  for  those  that  may  not,  I’ll  share  my  “mission  statement”  here.

Coming  from  a  place  of  restoration  from  a  messy  past,  I  have  such  a  burden  for  others  who  still  carry  around the  baggage  of  their  pasts,  and  allow  it  to  keep  them  from  being  what  God  created  them  to  be.

•  In  an  effort  to  bring  hope  to  and  encourage  the  child  of  God  that  has  felt  less  than,  or  defeated  in  their  spiritual  life,  I  have  created  4HisGlory  Ministries.  I  want  to  bring  awareness  that  our  circumstances,  past  or  present,  do  not determine who  we  are.  Our  identities  are  found  in  Christ  alone  and  He  gives  us freedom  and  victory  through  His  amazing  grace!

The  background  for  the  logo  is  the  Sea  of  Galilee,  taken  from  my  visit  to  the  Holy  Land.  This is where  Jesus  walked  on  the  water  and  spent  much  of  his  adult  ministry.  I  want  you  to  know  that  just  as  this  place  mentioned  in  the  Bible  is  real, Jesus  is  real.  And  He  loves  you  more  than  you  can  even  imagine.

My  August  recommendations:

Kind  is the  New  Classy-  Candace  Cameron  Bure

(Candace  expounds  on  why  kindness  matters, and  even  gives  us  tips  on  how  to show  love  and  kindness,  not  just  to  others, but ourselves  as  well.)

Uninvited- Lysa TerKeurst

(Lysa  tackles  what  so many of  us  are  facing:  Rejection,  and feeling  less  than.  Full of  great  biblical  ways  to  combat  and  overcome  these  feelings.)

A Severe Mercy- Sheldon Vanauken

(Hilary says:   This   book challenged  me spiritually  and  its  helping  my  marriage  too!  It kind a changed  my  life.)

Gay Girl, Good God- Jackie Hill Perry

(Dusty  says:  Best  book  I’ve read  so far  on  the  Bible  and  the  current  mindset  of  homosexuality.)
